Pediatric allergies are on the rise.
1 in 50 children have food allergies which is a 50% increase from 1997 to 2011 and 1 in 12 have skin allergies which equates to a 69% increase from 1997 to 2011.
Toxins (i.e. pesticides and herbicides) cause permeability issues in the gastrointestinal system (leaky gut) and can cause many health issues to include allergies. As a reminder 70% of our immune system is housed in the gut and allergies are characterized as auto immune.
Limiting toxins in our foods can help to heal the gut and improve immune function.
