I recently listened to author and physician Dr. Carolyn Dean’s podcast on The Miracle of Magnesium. She reminded me of the importance of this incredible mineral.
Magnesium is involved in 80% of the functions in the human body and deficiency causes metabolic disturbances and chronic health problems. It is estimated that greater than 75% of the US population is deficient in magnesium and a diet inclusive of alcohol, coffee and sugar decreases magnesium absorption.
Symptoms and chronic health problems linked to magnesium deficiency include but are not limited to chronic pain, cognitive issues, constipation, diabetes, high cholesterol, hypertension, insomnia, migraines, muscle cramps, obesity, osteoporosis, PMS, and stress.
